I had a good moment of confusion with that!

But I'm loving the truck! The interior looks amazing and I am jealous of the blued out headlights!

Haven't been able to do anything since the lift. Feeling the effects of the 2.5 week pay-off. But I figured I'd update this list with changes and what has been finished. Everything marked with an asterisk has been done, everything in bold is being changed or I've decided not to do it.

Instead of running 285/75's on 16x8's I've decided on 33x12.5's on 15x10's. Decided I'm going to install vinyl flooring instead of carpet. Easier to clean. Decided I don't want to seat swap, just did the 60/40 mod and I prefer it without the console actually. Just gonna leave it like that. And finally I think I've decided to just save a few bucks on a muffler and run a Thrush Welded. Some folks here seem to like them and I can get a dual out model for $40 cheaper than a Flowmaster. Still gonna run dual outs, straight out the back. Also decided to add a Mustang Dome Light, Taurus e-fan and possibly a new 3rd brake light to the list. I think that's everything. As soon as I have steady paychecks again and get the bills caught up I'll get back to work on it.

-----------

Oh, and I did the airbox mod and throttle cable mod and cranked my Tbars.

Wow. Been a while since I've been here. Wish I could say I've got a lot done to my truck in my absence, but that would be a lie.

But I am back to getting some work done. After getting laid off, going broke, then going back to work, still being broke, finding cheaper hobbies and getting a well-established budget going, I'm finally making improvements again.

Had a set of 285/75/16 Ironman A/T's delivered yesterday. Working on getting a set of 16x8 M/K Classic Baja's to mount them on. Also got a Thrush Welded to replace my Cherry Bomb as well as a new stock tailpipe (original had to be heavily modified to use the glasspack). Trying to get that welded together this weekend.

As for the list of modifications in the post above, I've decided to abandon most. Still gonna try and get vinyl flooring as well as an aftermarket stereo and sound system, but I'm no longer worried about any of the others.

Anyway, hope no one minds me resurrecting my old build thread after seventeen and a half months. But I figured I'd want to post some pictures when the new tires and rims were added.

Having new tires and rims mounted right after work. Will throw up some pictures when it's done.

Well I wanted to do some editing and upload the pictures to my profile before posting them but my internet is ridiculously slow tonight so Tapatalk will have to suffice.

Here we are before. That front tire was low on air at the time so it's a little saggy, lol.

These babies have been patiently waiting two weeks to be put on.

Just a little size comparison.

Feel like I waited forever for these.

Tried installing one here. The rims were supposed to come with lug nuts but didn't and the stock ones wouldn't work. Had to run to AutoZone to get a set.

But finally got them on. Nice ride, little road noise. Really happy so far.

That side isn't her good side, but it's the only side I can get a full picture from in the garage. I'm gonna try to get her cleaned up and take some glamour shots with my wife's DSLR thus weekend.

--------------

While I'm here, I suppose I'll talk about my future plans with her. I've broken down my projects into two categories: cosmetic mods and maintenance work.

Cosmetically, I'm still planning on blue interior LED's, touching up the painted from, new head unit, all new door speakers, amp, one 10" sub and vinyl flooring. I MIGHT experiment with plastidipping the rocker panels. I would love some exterior color instead of having all black. Not 100% on this. Oh, and fender flares.

Maintenance wise, my next job will be replacing the shocks and leaf hangers (one is in bad shape). Not entirely sure if I'm gonna get Bilstein 4600's or not. Frame is going to get painted black, then clear coated. Might replace the other front hub assembly (did the first one last year). Gonna replace the plugs and wires, clean the MAF and get a new air filter at the next oil change coming up. And I'm more than likely going to try and replace the bed. The truck frame is still in good shape rust wise, but the bed frame is done for. I figure it would probably be cheaper and easier to buy a new from a junkyard. Plus, I kinda want to convert it to a stepside, lol.

So that's what all I have planned and hope to accomplish within the year. If I go junking and find a decent explorer OHC or mustang dome light, I will do those mods too. But they're not a priority.

So if you want to see the progress stay tuned. Hoping to work on something every weekend.

Well yesterday I learned a very important lesson in wheel safety. While driving home from work, my front left wheel fell off!

I thought I had all the nuts tightened down enough, but I didn't. Fortunately I had the window down and heard the first nut hit the ground. I immediately slowed down and pulled over. Right before I came to a stop, the wheel fell off the lugs. Luckily as the truck lowered, the lugs caught the edge of the rim and kept the wheel standing and kept the hub from hitting the ground. Other than a few scratches in the rim and a couple slightly bent lugs, all is good.

I was able to recover one lug nut that fell off, then took one from each wheel, just so we could get the truck to a safer spot. Today I bought new tire tools and a 4 pack of lug nuts, and made sure everything was tight enough to get me home.

So Randi is sitting in my garage now. Got five new lug studs and new lug nuts on the way. Figured while I've got her jacked up with the wheels off I'll go ahead and throw on new pads and rotors too. And even though I don't think it's necessary, I went ahead and bought hub centric rings. Best to err on the side of caution.

Good To hear you're OK! I've had lug nuts shake loose on a vehicle before, its a scary situation. Double check those new lug nuts are the right type and get out the torque wrench!

Lol all things considered it was a good learning experience and an eye opener. Once I can purchase everything I need, both my truck and my wife's car will always have a quality jack, breaker bar, impact socket and emergency flashers in them. Both jacks and lug wrenches that came with them aren't any good.

New lug studs and nuts are being delivered today, new rotors tomorrow. Gonna pick up a set of brake pads and hopefully have her back up and running before this weekend so I can go look for a new bed.

If I find a bed, I'm gonna buy new shackles, hangers and shocks, and replace all those as well as paint and protect the frame while the bed is off.

Everything I was waiting on, including my rotors (a day early) were here waiting for my when I woke up this afternoon so I decided to get right to it. Took the wife's car to AutoZone to get the pads and a couple tools.

Up first was the wheel studs. This was surprisingly a lot simpler than I expected it to be.

That is, until I needed to crank down the new ones without the hub spinning.

Problem solved.

Ran out of threads to crank the studs all the way in, so I stopped there, then cranked them again after I got the new rotors on. They're all the way in now.

Got the new rotors and pads out without a hitch (which worries me sometimes. Something always goes wrong). Old rotors weren't terrible but they were on their way out. Pads were actually decent but I went ahead and replaced them anyway.

And she's finally driveable again. Took her into town to get gas and make sure the brakes were working properly. Checked the lug nuts at the gas station. Everything is back to normal.

Then an ice cream truck went by while I was cleaning up. I've literally never seen an ice cream truck come through here in my almost 26 years of life, lol.
