Finally swapped out the front bumps to some low profile Poly-Urethane bumps. Only had the factory ones trimmed down at first, these new ones are def night and day difference. Afterwards, took advantage of the nice weather and took the truck out for a couple of decent pics

Took the truck out to an autocross race a few weeks ago since my co worker convinced me to race it. Truck was very under-powered compared to a lot of vehicles out there, but truck actually did very well in the turns! Running about 2* negative camber up front helped a lot... Was my first time out doing any sort of pavement "racing" so I wasn't expecting to break any records lol
I did manage to meet my goal and beat the only other truck entered in the race, which I was stoked about. Would love to maybe get a stiffer away bar up front but even still if I don't, truck didn't lean in the turns much at all.

And here's a picture of the truck I can claim victory on, which had much more power than my measly 150hp (hence the license plate) lol

Plans are to hopefully get an explorer 8.8 in the back (limited slip, 3.73's, disc brakes, etc), along with maybe a stiffer front seat bar. Truck needs about 100 more hp and it would be perfect, also thinking about the possibility of a 4.0 SOHC swap instead of a 5.0 now.. Would be much lighter on its feet and basically has the same HP output but redlines at higher rpm.

Haven't bumped this thread in awhile. Recently put an 8.8 rear end that has a limited slip and taller 3.55 gears. While I was there I notched the frame a few inches and installed some fox shocks to stiffen up the rear a little bit.

Awesome ranger, not usually a fan of lowered ones but your truck looks really good with those wheels/tires setup. subbed!

Haha thanks man! That's just about what everyone else says, the wheels just give it sort of a classic older style look more than mini truck I think

Update from the dead.. finished up doing a 5.0 swap over the past month or so, turned out awesome! All parts were from a super clean low miles 2000 Explorer. Used the engine, trans, and engine harness, while reusing the ranger driveline by extending it an inch. 125 miles on the combo so far with no problems yet

Doing great so far. Already have logged about 6000 miles since the swap, gets over 22 mpg on the freeways. Still contemplating switching to e fan setup or keeping the mechanical fan.
