ripped apart the 16s for a much much needed rebuild. i had oil and air on both sides of the IFP in the resi, oil was black.

i find rebuilding these really fun to be honest.

----------

got sidetracked from rebuilding my shocks to help reshell my buddys rolled truck. took us a day and a half to gut and swap 2 cabs, and then reinstall everything.

did a few maintenance things to my truck the other day, cleaned the IAC, MAF and intake, found out how hard all 8 spark plugs are to get to on this truck with the engine cage being the way it is. also found out the stock air box id planned on throwing back in wont fit because of the coilover resi, so i cleaned and reoiled the cone filter for now. what should i do to get a sealed airbox in there? i was planning on cutting the top rim off my airbox, sealing it to something that would clear better at the bottom, and run it.

painted the grill inserts because the faded gray was bothering me.

finished rebuilding the shocks and another DR member was kind enough to fill them with nitrogen for me. .008 rebound stack and .010 compression.

and of course the next day i hit latrobe for a little testing. the valving is great for the weight of the truck. still need to figure out what valving was in there before but they were much thicker shims.

and the last update i have are these camburg steering clevis' i picked up from a member here, my LT kit has what looks to be a 3/4 outter heim and a stock inner tie rod. i was originally planning to run the 3/4 inner that came with the clevis and use the same 3/4 outter that is on my kit now. ive been told that i should step the outter up to a 7/8 since im redoing all of the steering anyway. is a 3/4 outter too small for hard use?

Dang, I paid 3 times that for mine. I wish I lived closer to better junkyards so I could take advantage of half price days.

M5ROD1, but yuuup. Wish it was a later hd one but these are much more plentiful. I got this one from an explorer sport.

I was going to run the 4.0 with the auto because i had all the pieces to do so, but after pulling most of the "little" things needed for a manual swap from a buddys parts truck to save for a rainy day, and finding this on a half off weekend it was meant to be.

Im surprised they didnt nickel and dime me on the little shit like the wiring harness. I dun goofed and forgot to grab the bellhousing bolts. Gonna go back with a battery powered impact and get the flywheel bolts needed as well.

Very clean work!
Subbin this.

I think I've seen you mention you're from sac on the classifieds section, I'll have to keep my eyes out. I come up from Lodi pretty often.

..
Can't really speak for the 4.0, but I re-used the bell-housing bolts without any issue.
