Big milestone. In the next week I’ll be pulling the lawn mower 2.3 and dropping in a 1989 Bronco 351 Windsor with an E4OD Auto. It’s set up for 4WD so I may slap a 2WD output or a transfer case and have a Bluetooth driveshaft until I do a 4WD front end.

In the works I have a dual sump pan to clear the crossmember and I’m searching for headers to run outside the frame rails. The Ranger is finally getting 2x the cylinders.

Why would you put an older motor in a newer vehicle? Sounds rather backwards to me...

Correct. Because V8, and yes it is an older motor and it will never be legal in California but everything has a loophole. I can get it registered here “Off the books” for the low price of $500. I just smog checked it in January so I have a year and 10 months or so to figure that part out. It’s on non-op now and I dropped it off the insurance so it’s a roller for now. Worst case scenario I either “red sticker” it (for off highway use only) or register it in Arizona.

No going back now. I hacked up the steering column trying to figure out the electrical and the PCM is dead. So it’s gonna collect dust for a while. However this is all talk now until I rip all the shit out of it and put the Windsor in.

So far on my checklist I need a transfer case. Something that will clear my console which I refuse to remove. A BW1356 Manual shift from a 1989-1996 Bronco should do the trick. Those are off to the side closer to the drivers right foot.

Needs a dual sump pan and Explorer 5.0 headers, or stainless steel Foxbody shorty headers if you whack a small dent in the header it will clear the steering shaft.

Also the stock 5.8 intake won’t clear the hood so I either need a cowl hood, body lift or the $794 aftermarket intake.

Again, all talky talk until it goes in.

Cool. Things keep changing.

I never provided pics of my 97 Explorer. Bitchin car, fresh Ford Black paint, 4.0 OHV, stick. Not a single scratch or dent. Couple months ago I lost the oil pump on the highway and seized the motor. So I’m waiting for a pulled 95-00 OHV ready to go in. Or a parts Expo.

So the day that happened, I just so happened to be tinkering with my Ranger, and found a stupid connector loose. Wiggled it and she’s been running great.

Until a couple weeks ago. Fucking transmission started slipping on the Ranger. And the front end is wobbly and popping. Plus she needs a brake overhaul.

So just yesterday I picked up this POS. 2002 Expo Sport. 4.0 SOHC/Manual. Gonna hoon around with this until I can fix both the others and then flip this one. Pics of my Ranger in its current state, 97 Sploder and the new to me, 2002.

It still runs and drives, just have to go easy on her in Drive so the trans stays engaged, so if you want I can still meet up with my Ranger. She just needs new pads and possibly a rotor.

I'll assume you mean your bank is the proud owner of a 2019 f-150 and you're just the proud owner of the monthly payments...
