Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Not sure if anybody is still on this site, but I do have a little update. Been driving around the stupid truck for a while, and I wasn’t planning on piecing together another stock bumper which could run over $600, so I had been watching Craigslist every week searching for a new bumper, and scored this. It’s a Vegas Dezert Fab bolt-on bumper, which I am now the third owner of lol.
Of course, I added these lights I got a while ago, and a little something for the 4th of July.

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Honestly not sold on it. Really cool looking but I liked my Ranger better the way I had it before. I also purchased the stock 2011 bumper from the same seller so if I change my mind, I can.

Personally more of a fan of the Affordable off road bumper on the grey ranger next to yours...but i might be slightly biased to grey Rangers with them

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Oddly enough after I installed that bumper my radiator sprung a pin hole leak. That’s the one I installed in mid-2016. So I bought another one just like it, but a 3-Row this time. Looks like my degas bottle is next on the list.
Few pictures.

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Good news. PATS issue... SOLVED.
I was tinkering with my truck one night and my truck decided to not start. Great, except this time it was being a real fucking **** and wasn’t going to start no matter how hard I tried.
So, I was able to jump my starter solenoid, but was completely useless because the PATS system prohibits the PCM from activating all of the motor functions (Coil pack, injectors, fuel pump, MAF, etc) so I took it to my guy.
Took it to my guy to have him figure it out. Dude is a fucking genius. If he unplugs the harness for my knock sensor and my EGR valve, it disappears! So apparently on the Duratecs there is a small coolant line inside the EGR valve on the back of the cylinder head. Corroded the unit and corrupted my computer. Then it all of a sudden decided to fry my PCM.
So an EGR valve (which requires removal of the transmission to access) a new PCM and a ford technition to program the truck, plus my water pump spring a leak so my guy put a new one in, a little patience and she’s good as new. Plus, my Smart Junction Box is no longer acting up.
Case closed.

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Bi-yearly update?
Found a Medium graphite shorty console online and thus made the “No sorry I only have 2 seatbelts” mod. Did not care enough to staple or stitch the fabric. I’ll have them reupholstered in the next couple years anyways.
Then just yesterday I scored a rare (and complete) Audiophile premium Pioneer sound system from a 2004 Ranger Edge Plus. Really awkwardly optioned Ford Ranger. I installed the front 350w Pioneers but need to run wires for the rear speakers, wire up the amp, sub and figure out what I want to fill the Airbag switch section with. And I test fit the large console portion. Now I can act like im a Mustang.

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
I like the idea of the small hidden sub inside but I personally find that console just to square looking for me

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Nah. I did plow a speed bump a while back and triggered my ABS light. Some time in September I believe I busted another Spindle. I don’t know if I mentioned that.
However for the last several months now the Ranger is sitting. I get it out once every other week and take her for a cruise.
I did come up on a hella clean 1997 Explorer XL. It has no power options, all manual everything. It’s a 4.0 OHV stick, and it’s a 4 Door. Pretty oddball car, so that’s my daily vehicle now. It had bad intake gaskets and a bad IAC when I bought it, so I had that fixed. The clutch is new but the pedal feels a bit funny, I’ll take it in when I get a chance. I had one mechanic tell me it was fine, but I’m going to get a second opinion.
I don’t know how to upload pics without photobucket. So just imagine a 1997 Explorer 4 door with fresh Ford Black paint.
