Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
It’s been decided. I’m meeting up with a fabricator this weekend.

Nothing special, just a bunch of broken plastic. It doesn’t appear that my crash bar was bent so I may get by with just replacing the upper and lower valence and be done. Depends on how everything lines up after I replace the header panel and fenders. I am however having trouble locating the brackets that hold the header panel to the core support. I’m going to search a junk yard when I have time. I already purchased new:
Header panel
Two headlights
Adjustable hood bumpers
One BFG KO2
Door hinge
Corners
Grille
Driver and passenger fender off Craigslist
So those will be in the mail this week. Must have cut my BFG on a rock somewhere. On a separate incident so I was not happy about that.
For those that want a picture

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
I know you guys love when I break things.
I blew the 7.5 rear end. My guy took it apart, nothing was salvageable and the pinion oblinged it’s hole in the housing so the housing is toast. It’s a 7.5 anyways. Poor thing lasted a long time.
So today I pulled an Explorer 31 spline 8.8 from my local Ecology, and took it straight over to my guy’s shop. He’s going to relocate the spring perch and shock mount, hook up the e-brake and plumb the hydraulic line. It’s a 4.10 Open diff.
Also he’s throwing on a larger master cylinder to give it some more kick to it. That piece in the picture is the cross pin from the carrier on the 7.5

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
And done.
Explorer 31 spline 8.8 with discs. Ebrake and hydraulics, hardware welded and painted. Shop also surprised me with a new interstate battery cause it kept dying on them apparently.

Re: Tyler's 2007 Hooptie
Keegan I’m not sure. I didn’t install it, I had my guy do it for me. And he did a great job if I may say. Looks like he rigged up some universal kit for the e-brake, but it works way better than the drum brake e-brake system.
They did keep the stock Explorer hydraulic line location which does make contact with my shock, I need to get some zip ties under there tonight so it doesn’t blow through hydraulic line.
