The rig as in the truck? Haha. No not at all, if I think of it I'll get a cruising/driving around video to show you. It sounds great.

Haha no sorry, I meant how much did your dynomax setup cost you, if you don't mind me asking.

Oh, it was about $185 shipped from Jegs.

Re: Mike's 2002 XLT 4.0 (Smiggins)
I haven't been on in a while because my wife got super sick and ended up in the hospital for 6 weeks, but with the time off work I was able to get a few things done with the truck. One night while she was in the hospital I was going crazy and had to do something for myself so I came home and did this...
Added an LED strip under the hood on a rocker switch so I can light up the engine bay in case I am workin in there at night or something. Fun easy and worthwhile project. It's like day in there when it on!
----------
I took my grill off and cleaned and painted the honeycomb.

That's incredibly bright. Just a cheap strip from Wal-mart?
Sorry to hear that, hope everything is going well.

Yeah I love how bright it is in there now. I got a pair of them off Ebay for a few bucks a while back. I had doubts about the sticky tape on the back of the strip and it staying on the hood but it hasn't had any problems at all after 2 months of driving, rain, dust, mud, car washes, engine heat, and freezing temperatures.
Thanks man. She almost died and ended up having open heart surgery while she was in but we are making slow steady progress now.

Yeah, I've noticed on mine that the underside of the hood is obviously not clear-coated and scarcely painted. I might try that.
Wow, I am so sorry to hear that. That's great that life is turning in your favor. Hang in there.
I got a mustang dome light that I was thinking about installing but I chose against it. Color is black. Figured it may match the trim on yours. Looks like it came out of a used car but just needs a little cleaning. If you want it, just pay shipping.

Getting close to the 70k mark, and as the truck has sat a lot, I would change the timing chain tensioners soon.

I still haven't decided on whether or not I want to do the mustang dome light. I have always kinda liked the light I have but if shipping is decent I would be interested in at least having it so I can do if I want to. Let me know how much shipping would be.

Yeah I just rolled 71k on the way to work today. I would love to do some preventative maintenance on the truck to keep him running smooth, including the tensioners. I figured I would just replace the timing chains at 100k.

Re: Mike's 2002 XLT 4.0 (Smiggins)
I also got tired of my brakes squeaking all the time and I had the parts laying around so I replaced my rotors and pads. While I was in there I painted the calipers and the rotors as well. I used ceramic pads... not sure how I like them yet.

Here is a link to timing chain info. One of the chains is on the back of the engine. Don't wait
too long. Any questions just ask. I did this to my truck not too long ago. 4.0 sohc timing chain rattle - everything you need to know

Tensioners are external and screw in. Very good design in the aspect of easy replacement. what you don't want is them going slack, which destroys the guides making a rattling sound. If it makes a rattling sound at startup, now is a good time to replace them. What you don't want is rattle at random times, for example, at idle, or during certain RPMS, that most likely means the guides are broken. Our model years are bad for doing it due to the older guide design.
