Update - Received new SEM paint and started with the back cabin

I ran out of SEM paint last time I painted, so once I received 3 new cans of Landrau Black and Medium Graphite (Classic Coat) from Germany I continued

Update - Cutting the speaker to mount 6.5"

As I decided to buy a Gladen kit with seperate bass and discant I needed to cut the 6x9 hole in one side to fit the 6.5" bass units.

This is the speaker kit I bought http://www.gladen.com/GladenCompoCoa...ionsSQX165.pdf

Update - Installing discant's in door panels & painted leather pieces in door panel

So today I finished installing the discant's in the door panel. It went quite smooth as I only had to drill two hole's; One for the screw to hold the bracket for the speaker and 1 for the 2.5mm2 speaker cable.

Looks awesome IMO!

Update - Picked up expo power seats, shorty console, wiper control arm & headlight switch

So skimming through DBA (Danish version of Craigslist @ www.dba.dk) I found an 98' Explorer being sold in parts. The next day I drove to it and disassembled the seats and as my wiper control arm was defective I took that as well including a Headlight switch for my 4 banger!

I painted the plastic panel's on the side of the seats after I gave them a good cleaning!

Golly! You are really "going to town" on this fancy-mobile, turning it into a limousine on the inside. Those seats are going to feel so nice & comfy. It's fun to follow along with your rebuild, to see what you've accomplished. Well done!

Thanks man, I do try my best

Let's just conclude thinks is a little smoother second time doing most of the most!

And you are so right regarding the seats - plan was actually to swap em in the 4 banger and move leather in to the new but oh my you sit a lot better in em cloth seats!! And they are barely worn, those leather I have in my 4 banger is pretty worn drivers side!

It's almost time for the trip to Sweden to pick up a 5r55e and she's soon ready for the road! Gonna update the VB, but that's it.

And then it's time to part with my 4 bangy as I got alooooot of mods and enhancements coming for the new

Update - Removing "EU" license plate holder and painting rear bumper

I decided to remove the ugly and tacky EU step board/ licenseplate holder which is put on the exported rangers, as I want US style plates ofcourse!

Bought the license plate lens and bulb socket, but missed I need the pigtail plug which connects to the socket!

Painted my rear bumper with the almighthy SEM bumper coat - Gloss black

----------

Update - Grinded down the battery tray + paint - Painted the plastic trim on the front bumper

So my rusty battery tray needed some touchup before putting in the new battery. Grinded it down, painted with some rust prime and then topped with some bumper coat!

Painted the plastic trim on the front bumper to match the rear

Wow, this beast is gonna look like NEW truck, pretty soon. Love the black interior. Your project looks like fun.

What tool do you use to grind away the rust? I used a wire brush on my angle grinder, which was very effective. Then I tapped away the remaining scale with a small chisel, so that I didn't have any chunks of rust hiding underneath the paint. Ospho (ie, phosphoric acid) is cheap and is awesome at neutralizing rust, but works best on just a thin coating of rust. See http://imgur.com/a/CKVUo

Many thanks and yeah its coming along nice and well! If all go's to plan, its on the road in 2-3 weeks!! Just got my filter, gaskets for the new 5r55e so i'll be changing that tomorrow! You know where I can find the torque specs for the VB ?!

Regarding the battery tray I used a wire brush as well! I did not chip it all away afterwards, as I plan to upgrade the battery big time and will need to modify the tray (Got the sub, amp etc and I will be making it to a bad ass fish truck with chargers etc n' power to run a 12v cooler for some days), so I did not go all in on it!

Hey, I recognize those VB gaskets & filter!

Torque specs are sprinkled about inside here (VB is about 1/3 way down):

Those fish are gonna taste yummy after all this work on your "fish-mobile".
