Project Flashback

This will be the log for the build of my '03 single cab XL. Unfortunately,as a single father,it may be a little slow.
Having come of age during the van/mini truck years,I've always had a special place in my heart for them.Over the years I've developed a love for the traditional customs of the 50's and early 60's.
When my daughter turned 16 ,we looked around for a Ranger for her since she loves my '08.During the search I came across this '03 that I liked so I got it for me to drive and am letting her use the '08
Since I can't afford a classic for a project,I decided to build this truck with an old school style.Hence the name Flashback.
I'll add to this as I go along.

Here's a pic as purchased.



First thing to go was the ugly flag mirrors,



Picked up some '03 style mirrors from Fleabay,



Decided to change the HVAC color,






Next was getting some new shoes on it.Wanted to go with whitewalls but,after getting the wheels and spider caps,it just wasn't in the budget so,that'll have to come later.

Since the last pic I took off the bug deflector and vent shades.
Today I installed the new grill and Mustang dome light.
