Smile Some advice my fellow Rangers

Alright so, here in 5 days I'm going to be picking up my first Ranger! Am quite excited about it as well. I just wanted to get the opinion of y'all othe owners. It's a 1991 Ranger XLT, 2.3L, A4LD automatic tranny. It's got a little over 300k on the dash. And the rust situation isn't bad(surprisingly) I'm starting it as a project for my free time as well as being able to use it for school to work on because I am in Automotive school. I might possibly do an engine swap eventually maybe. Anyways, I'm also going to be using it as my daily because it runs and drives strong, it also gets better gas mileage than my shitty Taurus now. I'm buying it for 800$. I just wanted to know what y'all thought about it? Good deal? How is the durability and reliability on these 91īs? Anything will help! I appreciate it Rangers! Will be posting some pics later when I get some time too.

It's a 23+ year old truck you purchased for $800 - be happy it runs and drives at all!

Since you mess with vehicles - you know what you're in for with it & prepare accordingly.

Other than that - just drive it until it falls apart!

I bought a 90 longbed 2.3,5 spd 2wd last year for $1100.... body was rough but it ran good...... only issues I have had so far is a new muffler, loose heat shield on the cat conv and the left turn signal acts up once in awhile..... 2.3 auto is gonna be slow...but the 4 cyl in these are not known for power when stock anyways

Yeah I hear that Logan. Thanks! Longbed: how many miles did it have on it? I'm also not too worried about power right now. Just to get to school and work and back. But eventually, I hope to be able to drop something fairly powerful in it. Best part is I can work on it for school and at the school. So all tools and lift are at my fingertips.

Just remember 300k is 300k, don't beat on it to much. All in all it sounds like a good buy.
