This was my dad's truck, he died in 2003 while living in Florida. My uncle from Colorado went down to handle everything and took the truck back home. Over the winter he offered it to me so I flew out and drove it home.
I started a couple of different threads on here for little things, but I feel one thread will be more organized. This will be slow and cheap, but I will do what I can, when I can.
Here is the truck when I first got it.
It had no real issues, but a a couple of things that bothered me. The constant door ajar light, and a leaky third brake light. I fixed both of those right after joining up here and finding out the simple fixes. Besides that I didn't do much else at the time because it was freezing ass outside.
A few days later I threw in an Alpine deck that I got from a buddy for 50 bux. I NEEDED Ipod support.
Fast forward to this weekend, I cleaned up the wheels as some of you saw in the other thread. For those of you who didn't see, I used a wire wheel and Turtle Wax chrome polish to bring them back to life.
Today I removed the front bumper (the only rusty spot on the truck) and took all of the paint off of the bumper. Wednesday I am going to paint the bumper and grill black. I also turned the Mazda emblem into an "Evil M"
Next, I want to do the same to the back bumper, also remove those shitty looking old and dried out decals off of the truck. I am not sure what I should use to do so. I know I will need a heat gun and goo gone, but what else? A plastic blade? IDK.
More will come when the time and or ideas roll in. I plan to put buckets, or a split bench with a center console in within a month or so.
Let me know what you guys think I should do (on the cheap).
Thanks for looking!
