Budget Friendly "Day-Runner" Build
I've been "googling" prerunner projects for over a year now and kept running by this forum site. I finally decided to sign up (Free? Okay!) and see what the hype was about. This forum rocks. It has just about every thing you could need as far as questions and answers. Anyhow, this thread is going to be for all of the "Cost-friendly" folks out there that want the looks of a pre-runner but still be able to use your rig as a daily driver. I finally convinced my wife into letting me buy a ranger a couple months ago and now that Winter is finishing up, i will be piecing together a budget trail-runner( since i am in Kansas the most offroad i will get are trails).
My plans are:
-Clean-up rust on frame
-Install new Rockers
-64" Leaf Spring Swap
-FiberwerX Front and Rear fiberglass
-33" tires
-Haven't decided what i want to do on the front end yet-Torsion Keys? Spring Replacement? Full a-arm replacement? Any thoughts on that would be great!
-Rear tube bumper with hitch
-Front Tube bumper
-Bedliner
-A few Tune-up items here and there(Plugs, Wires, Pads, Shoes, Drum Kit, etc.)
Here is my starting platform.

I'm not too worried about replacing as much as i am just "stabilizing" it as best i can. It's a toy and i am on a budget so duplicolor will be my best friend for the next couple months!

Re: Budget Friendly "Day-Runner" Build
Finally got part of the front end tore down. Definitely crusty rusty, but good news, NO cracks in the frame!

Dam, that's a lot of rust... Haha. Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you got some work ahead of you. Just a warning though, you'll catch hell on here if you go with torsion keys.
