So I got a few future plans on modifications I would like to consider/actually do...

Definitely need a hitch for the summer to tow the boat, will put one on closer to Spring time because it is -27 here celcius with the wind.

Thinking about doing the Explorer full length console mod, but with working rear vents if possible and a black one to go with the black interior? If this is possible.

RockAuto, Kool-Vue, eBay... There's a few options and every aftermarket 06+ mirror I've encountered (8 of them) are OE Ford quality. None of the mirror wiggle or vibrate like the older style aftermarket replacements.

The aftermarket ones I've installed with mirror caps came with both a paintable black cap AND a chrome cap. So you can pick and choose.

Wiring is really easy. Alot of folks skip the first step of the swap : remove the old mirror properly. This involves an extra step of removing the speaker and unclipping the mirror electrical connection inside the door....then remove the mirror and wiring from the door. Cut the wire right at the mirror. Cut the new mirror's plug off, solder the old mirrors wiring to the new mirror's wiring, route the wiring down the door, mount new mirror, attach the connector, done. When you've got both mirrors next to each other, it'll be really obvious why this has to happen.

There's a how-to and a few threads that talk about the install of the mirror itself. Not much available in the wiring department. At least doing it properly, cleanly, and stock-like way.
That's with no lift? It looks sick

They never had 'em in black. So basically it doesn't matter what color one you find, you'll be doing a color change regardless.

Many including myself HIGHLY suggest using SEM's Landau Black interior product. It's very close to factory shine and coloring. People who want to properly color change their interior to black, use this stuff. Just remember prep is key! Linked below is a thread where it was used...

I will be doing the console swap, once I find a Sport Trac explorer at the wreckers since they have 100x better cupholders than regular explorers.

It was a real chilly day in Edmonton today,

That is without the windchill, it was -33 here today with windchill. Absolutely freezing.

Doesn't have to be specifically a Sport Trac....01-05 Explorer Sport (2dr's) also have the same console.

Got a drop in bed liner from the pickers for only 25 bucks!

Better than nothing.

Here's some updates of whats happened lately to the Level II

Bed caps:

Drop in Ford Bed liner:

Also picked this from the local Pick-N-Pull for 30 bucks only, takes place instead of me fixing my broken stubby console for 45 bucks... plus looks 100x better.

Next post for after installation ...

----------

Used Dupli-Color Vinyl paint for Interiors to match the interior perfectly!

Thanks, I feel it looks even better than the stubby.

I love it and I couldn't be happier with how it came out. I need to figure out how to lengthen the airbag cord though to rig it up into the stock cig lighter on the passenger side though... Anyone know how? Because my little brother frequently rides with me,...

Oh hell yeah man, love my Clam tent. Plus with my 18K BTU propane heater, she gets nice and toasty.

What I did today:

Picked a 2005 Mustang dome light from the local Pick-N-Pull for $4.35 cents... Haha black too matches perfectly!

Got a Limited badge off a 07 Escape, pretty excited about that. Got some V6 badges too but don't know where and if I want to mount them...

Also changed my cig lighter to a USB port, looks absolutely perfect.

Hung out with my buddy Evan all day, who drives a 1998 XLT 4X4. Took some pictures together.

Who then proceeded to get stuck

No worries, FX4 got him out.

Was a great day, had a really good trip to the wreckers. Don't know what else to do lol... Running out of mod ideas.
