Id take a Dodge over a chevy ANY day dude. My ol' man beats the living hell out of his '97 (hauls logs/wood, pulls a trailer camper, car trailer) with 235,000 miles and it still runs like brand new. VERY low maintenance and easy to work on. Hell, you dont even need an alignment if you change the balljoints (no camber bushings, camber bolts in radius arms). If I needed a fullsize, I'd definitely get a dodge.

No transmission issues? 97-98 were plagued with shitty trannys. I dislike both Dodge and Chevy. I would only buy Ford or Toyota trucks.

I called today to check on the claim and they said they're going to refund the "declared value" which is 200 less than what its actually worth/what the person paid. They basically had me send them the paypal transaction for no reason since they ignored it. They're refunding the old declared value plus shipping but shipping was $40 not 25 like they said.

They wont fix the problem and apparently there is never a manager around when I call.

So i'll be out $200 which is awesome because now it delays it even more for me to pay my license reinstatement as well as repair my truck to put it on the road since I basically don't have a job right now.

I ship a LOT of stuff out and they'll never be shipping anything else i have to send off to someone. FedEx or USPS will be the only ones shipping my stuff out.
That sucks, but then again UPS has always dropped the ball. I recomend The post office/ priorty mail. They're cheap and have several options that are way better than UPS/Fedex combined.

FedEx Ground uses subcontracting and like you confirm "are not employees, but contractors". They own their trucks and buy routes. They operate using the various white (mainly stick-shift) trucks that are green/grey lettering.

FedEx (the air division and the original company) operates with employees held to a much higher standard. They drive the white UPS-like box trucks with the Purple/Orange lettering.

I work for FedEx -- a very professionally run company, and I have experienced trouble with FedEx Ground/Home Delivery (which is the residential part of Ground). The standards for them are not as enforced because they are not employees.

Another easy way to tell is by the tracking number provided. FedEx is always a twelve digit number like 1234 4567 5566 whereas Ground/Home Delivery uses a long UPS-like number, such as ((0000001)11111222244567.

Fortunately, I only had one claim for Ground and it was for very minimal amt. like 13.55, and they paid it with no questions asked.

Sorry for your experience.
Really! I left the Custom Critical Division in 2005, I was a sub contractor that drove a D unit (Dock height strait truck). They kept trying to get me to drive an E unit (18 wheeler) as a contractor but I said no. I left due to economy issues (virtually no loads) and health problems.

Really? Because I call you dumb for comparing USPS to Obama care, you resort to trash talking a car brand and stating that a person doesn't deserve good service from a shipping company because they own that certain car brand? I stand by what I said: You must be the most intelligent person on the planet.

Transmission issues were ONLY with the 360 backed with an auto transmission. Drivetrain is a 318 with auto (funny bc its the same auto tranny as with the 360, therein lies the problem)

I prefer USPS, hadns down. I agree though. We should have a system where you drive the package to the next state line and pass it on to another forum member... lol

OP, here is my friends reply.

Man, I hate this shit. So much of this happens because they're getting sooo fucking greedy. And that's all of them, not just UPS.

Did he actually insure it for whatever his Paypal transaction was? It's not automatic. You have to actually declare and then they charge you whatever it is per hundred dollars. If he did and they changed it, they have no authority to do so. It's not like he's selling new products retail. Whatever he declares, they have to pay because he paid for the insurance and they have no authority to assess value on used goods. And if he paid 40 for shippingm then they need to refund 40 for shipping. I'm hating my employer more and more with each passing day.

Tell him to get on the horn and really start laying into them, don't stop until he's satisfied, and tell them that FedEx is going to be getting a lot of business because of this incident. Sooner or later he'll hit the right nerve. And also mention that his entire Ranger community will know about it, too and recomend the same.

Jesus I hate this crap. Good luck with this. Don't let the Man get ya'!

Gerry

Basically, bitch till you get your way. Good luck!
