Thanks a lot for the tip. Mine was already set to 2 so I changed it to 1 and so far it's working with my remote start as well as key crank just fine.

I found this under Pwr on options I believe.

Does anyone know if instant MPG and average MPG readings work on a 98 ranger? I have done the gas tank configuration and still nothing shows up. DTE and TTE readings work as well as GPH works but nothing with those to on the main screen. I have set the sensor to manually check the MAF and I'm at a loss. Anything else I need to do or are the 98s not able to work with MPG with the UG?

Sounds odd Troy. You might need to restore the factory settings and start over. You may not need to do the calibration either. Someone noted that a small error between what the gage reports and what you calculate with a fuel study/calculator is to be expected. Maybe 3% error is to be expected.

Did a factory reset and still MPG and average MPG show 0.00

I think the 98s don't work because they don't included distance traveled to the UG? I can't do a dist calabration and a fuel tank cali doesn't seem to do anything besides fine to DTE and GPH...

I don't know what else to do, kinda sucks that the main reason I bought the UG was for MPG.

98s dont output speed/distance via obdii, making mpg calculations impossible

So it's pretty much useless to a 98 to even try to calculate MPG? Man I really wish I knew that before buying that.

I would even take it if it could some how just calculate it by inputting data.

This really sucks, doesn't make sense how it can tell DTE and GAL level.

Usefulness is in the eye of the beholder, personally I love mine, even if it doesn't do mpg etc.

This is a fairly well documented issue on here as well as on the UG website.

Wow...sorry to hear that gents. I love the feedback I get from my Ultragauge. My favorite set up is having the MPG info in the 1, 3, and 5 positions for instant MPGs, MPG srt, and Avg MPGs.

It's probably been asked already, but can you program your tire size into the UG so that it reads the correct mi/hr, or will it just read the same as the speedometer? My speedometer is off a bit because of the larger tires (hasn't really bothered me much, which is why I haven't had it fixed), but I would like the speed reading on the UG to be correct.

Okay, I'm thinking of buying one tomorrow. 99 4.0l 4wd. Is it worth it from experience? What features does mine not support compared to the newer vehicles. Thanks
