Ive had the UG for a few months now and still love it. Used the code clearing feature once or twice. Great Price and Quality.

Couple thing I would change.
A cord that disconnects from the unit.
And it be able to Tell me trans temps
And actual gas levels...

Other than that is is great.. Those 3 things dont affect me giving it *****

Okay, well how does it keep track of when you need to service your engine? Take oil for an example. Do you update it when you change your oil then it just counts down 3,000 miles or can it tell you when oil is in need of replacement due to the condition of it.

My next question is about the trouble codes. It says it tells you clear trouble codes. How clear are the codes. Will it still give me numbers like the diagnostics tests at autozone ones at autozone or will it actually tell you what the problem is without having to look up the meaning to codes?

Last question how accurate is the diagnostics scanner? For example I have a bad vaccum hose on my truck and it keeps giving my truck the codes for a bad MAFS. Would the UG have picked up on the hose being bad or would it have gave the codes for MAFS?

it does not tell you the oil is no good or the condition of it, just a mileage reminder basically and the codes are the same as autozone -pepboys it does not tell you what the code is it will be like p0171 for example. last question is hard to tell , what code did you have pulled? a lot of the mafs code still go down to being a leak in a hose or just dirty maf sensor. On my daughters car it was throwing a code for a bad maf I cleaned it and it solved the problem.
all in all it's a good tool and worth the 59.00 bucks in my opinion

Only reason it will not tell you those 2 are because the ranger does not have the sensor.

I've thrown two MAFS at it and the CEL still pops up. I am convinced it is a vaccum line.

if you calibrate it and its close in being accurate your gas level will be pretty accurate. i have mine on fuel level with amount of gallons and the first time i filled up it was off by one gallon. but i have calibrated it again and i feel this time its more accurate. im going to fill up tomorrow and ill set it to full on the gauge and update in a few days how accurate it is this time.

One tip for people that already have the Ultra-Gauge:

To change color of display, cut a piece of colored cellophane and place it on the screen. just make it a little bigger than the screen and wedge it in there:

here is where one user used green cellophane:

Where can you get this because I'm planning on buying an UG before my birthday (May) and use it to drive down to VA (vacation). Also would love to use this stuff for my gauge cluster overlays.

Has anyone ever put the ultra gauge in the little spot down by the passenger airbag key in that cubby? and how does it look in the dark?

I was looking at that today and thought the same or just place it over the passenger airbag key spot cause I never have passengers

I checked that and that was the fuse that was popped I always pop that so i upgraded it to a 30amp fuse instead of 20amp
