well, if you are interested in emissions info, the em plus has 02 support. i think it also has a few data bits on the egr functions (or 'readiness').
if you wanted to know transmission temp & maybe some other parms, the mx is the way to go, BUT i am fairly certain that rangers never came with a transmission temp sensor.

i think i'll get the em plus later on (slight hope on solving my p1401), and retire my v1.2 to my cobalt.

They DO have trans temp. My 99 had it and my current 04 has it. I personally don't like the ultra gauge and returned it the day after I got it and went with a nicer gauge

My gauge plugs into the OBD2 port and receives trans temp from the lead frame harness so its reading the temp of the fluid in the pan.

Old truck was a 99 3.0L 4x4 off road and the 04 is a 4.0L

I just took this pic now. Truck has been sitting for over 14 hours so thats why the numbers are low lol

It's called an aeroforce technologies interceptor
Aeroforcetech.com

With the svt face and black bezel it's about $200 more than the "best" ultra gauge lol

I bought an Ultra Gauge for my PT Cruiser. Just sold the Cruiser and now am using the UG in my 99 Ranger. I love the UG. Lots of information and a good price. Does much more than you would expect for so little money.

So what features of the 1.3version does the Ranger actually use?

I am about to get a plus unit but it seems like the 1.3v is very similar to what the Torque app is for android?
