Default Sylvaynia Silverstar Ultra Headlight review

Hey everyone how you doin'

I'm just starting this thread because i recently installed Silverstar Ultra headlights in my truck and i want to say that they are AWESOME...

The light output is much greater that a standard bulb and the color of the light is very white, they almost look like HID's

The reason i bought these bulbs instead of an HID kit is because i had $32 worth of Canadian Tire money and i had a save $1o coupon to so i only payed like 26 bucks cash for the pair...

Anyways i am very happy with they lights, they are super easy to install (they install just like any other bub) and they always work! I have heard a lot of stories about HID lights not working properly

Here is a pic of my lights on low beam

A lot of people who are talking about there HIDs not working is because one, they did not install them right or two they bought them from a off brand company on eBay. HIDs are brighter than any type of halogen bulb whether it be stock or aftermarket. HIDs tend to last longer than halogen as well. I have had my kit for almost 2 years now without any problems. But that's just my two cents and a lot of people can agree with me and others will not. But I'm not here to argue or anything I just wanted to point that out since I sell them . Those lights do look bright for being low beam. I think they look real nice and crisp. And with that price you said, you can't beat that at all! Now picture of high beams would be nice lol and you should do a comparison of beams on a wall as well.

Thumbs up Re: Sylvaynia Silverstar Ultra Headlight review

Ok i just went out and got some pics for you...
I used night shot mode on my camera and it used a flash
Low Beam

High Beam

The pictures really dont do it justice and i am not really comparing theese to HIDs because i know HIDs are still much brighter BUT i would like to say that i definitely notice a great improvement in brightness and whiteness of the light and i would recommended them to people... especially if you can get them for the price i did

Oh exactly with that price a lot of people would skip all the trouble and headache that some HID users go through and get those instead. Looks real nice bro.

X2 on the ultrasm i have them in my headlights and the rgular silverstars in my fogs (didnt know they offered the ultras in fogs). As for the HID vz Halogen argument, you have some people like me that just dont want HIDs.

Yes they are brighter and there is ko arguing that. But dont like them behind me and someone behind me with HIDs without projectors pisses me the eff off. So i choose not to do it to others. I like the silverstars because they look nice and whit ithout nlinding the piss out of people

Well I hate them too in a way for people with lift trucks and no projectors or ricers with 3000k in heads and 12k in fogs just puts a bad name for us HID users that actually do it right. I don't have projectors (yet/not sure) but I aimed mine correctly so I don't blind people in front of me nor do I get flashed. I just can't see myself go back to halogen since I have been using HIDs and use to them for almost 2 years

My experience with the silverstars is that yes, when new they are awesome, but after about 4 months, they have dimmed to the point that you could replace one of them with a regular bulb, and not know the difference. Not worth the extra price for a couple months of a bright head light, considering that at full price, they aren't much cheaper than HIDs.

----------

I'm with Jordan, with my truck being lowered, and my headlights aimed properly, I have had no complaints of blinding people, and I've asked friends of mine that I've driven behind, and I also have never been flashed with them. They have been in the Ranger for about 2 years now, no issues.

I like HID's but for me, they just seem to much of a hassle. I move around a LOT, I want something I can pop into my local parts store, or Tardmart and pick up now. Plus after having them in my GMC they worked amazingly. Plus HID's are not as good in the snow if you don't pay attention to whether you get a 6000 or a 12000. I have seen a lot of snow, I'll stick with the Ultras.

Trucks looking good man!

These have been my bulb of choice for all my vehicles (first thing I would buy for any of them ) and will continue to use them. Allways have had them last without problems. However I recently pulled mine out of the ranger and did the HID thing. Like what was stated before, HIDS arent for everyone and I would reccomend these bulbs to those people.

Ive had Ultras in my mains and fogs. No they don't last long in 9007 form. My 20 month old SS Ultra mains are as dim as my 5 year old stock bulbs.

But its a different story with my 9145s. I think because of the lower draw of the 9145's the Ultras last longer in fogs. I've had em in my fogs for about a year and they dont seem to have lost much brightness at all.

the F'ers i hate on are the douchebags in the lifted trucks that don't know how to aim their lights properly, and its even worse in my truck because i'm lowered, but i have had the ultras in my truck for years, took a little break to run HID's to see what they hype was about, and i love the ultras

Nice man yeah I have my HIDs PROPERLY aimed and have once not been flashed. I can see just fine at night and love them. So many people been talking about the Ultras but I might give them a shot once my HIDs ever stop lighting up lol. Might get some Ultras for my folks vehicles if I can ask anyone on here for some more pictures of them? The beams and what not. Thanks
