CARID.COM First experience a bust
OK, I'm new to this forum, having just bought a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT--48k miles. Good buy, some surface rust on the frame, a few perfs in the bed (got help finding corrugated on this forum), mud flaps must have been backed into something so fixed the supports and put on new...etc. Nothing I can't do easily as a non-mechanic just getting my feet wet on this thing.
So...bought some floor mats. How hard can that be, right? Didn't want to put out WeatherTech $$ so bought Husky mats from Carid.com. They weren't cheap at $80 shipped, but I put in my Ranger year and model etc. and they were specific to the truck.
They aren't even close to the correct fit. They catch under the gas pedal for one thing and on the other side they simply don't sit in the wheel well.
Contacted Carid.com online refund request (sent a bunch of info and photos as requested) and a bunch of days later called them when I didn't get a reply. The fellow asked for the same info and I sent the photo again. "Yes, they really don't fit--I'll tell purchasing."
A few more days later, I got a return authorization which I've also attached. Note they assert I returned it because "No need for the product(s)" and all the other mumbo jumbo. Read it and tell me says "service" for a product that is that isn't fit for it's intended use.
Now mind you, they came on hangers and you cut the hanger tab off to put them in your car. I am expecting to have to go another round with them and perhaps credit card remediation...which I've never done.
Anyway, I sent it off today and have crossed Carid.com off my list.
I'll let you know how it goes, but I'd watch out...they don't seem square to me,
Tom
