Thumbs down 4 Wheel Parts SUCKS

I officially hate this company. I ordered a pair of front shocks on August 30th because they had them on their website, nothing said "out of stock" or "back ordered" so I ordered them.

Almost a week after ordering the shocks (Sept 4th), I get an email saying the shocks aren't in stock, strike 1.

I called them the same day to cancel the order and get a refund. The rep on the phone said it was cancelled and I should have my refund back in PayPal after 3 business days, ok.

Today is the 4th business day. I filed a PayPal dispute this morning before heading out and then called 4WP at around noon to see what they had to say. The rep this time said it would take up to 4 business days so I should have the refund by the end of the day today, strike 2.

Get home from work a little while ago, check my PayPal, nothing. Check my bank accounts for the heck of it, nothing. Strike 3.

Escalated the dispute to a claim on PayPal so they can help me out and get my close to $200 back from this shitty vendor. Its absurd to have a well known company have such terrible customer service, inventory management, and quality control.

Its entirely possible they are an expediter for their catalog parts, not a warehouse. So they may be unaware of the "out of stock" situation until their supplier tells them.

That doesn't excuse the miscommunications with you on the issue or in the refund. Your frustration is understandable.

I had the exact issue with them. I ordered shocks and waited two weeks and never heard from them. The rep said the shocks won't fit my truck. So I reordered the shocks that will. Two more weeks go by, and I call and they said they are back ordered for three months. So I said fuck it and ordered somewhere else.

They also have terrible customer service in store.

I went there to purchase rims and tires. They didn't have anything I wanted in stock or at any of there other stores. So I had to go else where.
I also ordered a rear hitch shackle online, and it took wayyy to long to come in. Overall I don't think I will be dealing with them again

I ordered a set of wheels from them 2 years ago. Got them within a week. I ordered shocks from them a little over a year and a half ago. Got them within a week. Never had a problem with them.

some people have good experiences but i've read about more bad than good. I ordered one of those same shocks on ebay and it also wasn't in stock but the ebayer called me SAME DAY to let me know and to call him back. I called him back a few min after and he issued a refund immediately. He was nice and helpful unlike anyone i've dealt with to this point at 4 wheel parts.

I'll go back to how I was before and give 100% of my business to summit racing. They actually tell you the parts are back ordered and give an estimated ship date unlike 4WP. Summit's customer service is great too

5th business day today and once again, nothing. I'm waiting for a PayPal rep to call me back. I'm having him call 4WP because the last thing I want to happen is 4WP shipping the shocks, me getting them, and be screwed paying return shipping/restocking fees since I'd have to wait until 9/20 for 4WP to respond to the dispute which is a date that lands after they said they'd have them back in stock.

PayPal got my money back. I'm so glad I paid with PayPal because if I just used a credit card, i'd have to go through a lot more loopholes im sure.

What did i get out of this shitty experience?NEVER BUY FROM 4 WHEEL PARTS AGAIN!!


Also if any of you don't have PayPal, I highly recommend opening up a free account. It'll save your ass and companies finally comply once PayPal contacts them. PayPal FTW!

I've had the same problems!!! I ordered 4 new shocks and 4 new wheels with the 3 day ups shipping. The night I order I got a confirmation email saying that they were shipped. Two days later a rep calls me to make sure that they would fit my truck? So then after that the shipped them and were two days late!!! And when they finally came I only got 3 of the 4 shocks wtf!!!

I also ordered taillights but this time they were out of stock and had to get them straight from spider auto which cost and extra 20 bucks!

I ordered some shocks from them back in June. A while goes by and they haven't shipped so I give them a call to see whats up. Apparently they were on back order, no big deal I didn't need them until August anyways.

The end of August rolls around and still nothing so I give them another call. They now have the rear shocks in stock but still nothing for the front. They were kind enough to ship the rear shocks but I am STILL waiting on the front ones.

But hey, it has only been 3 months so what is a little while longer...
