What brought you to Rangers?

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
first car (truck), my grandpa previously owned my truck and in his old age he was not enjoying having to clutch and shift constantly, so i bought my truck off him and he bought a 98 4.0 auto on 31's with a 3 inch spindle lift haha

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
The day I bought my 1st ranger I was actually going there to buy a dodge dakota with the v8, they only had 2 and I didnt care for the color on one and the other was used and we couldnt come to terms on a price, so I went across the street and bought a 97 ranger, one day I decided I wanted something different and traded it and hated doin that ever since, so then I bought my current ranger, a 94 same style truck I just dont like the dash in the 94 tho.

I inherited it from my Grandfather when he passed on. He's the Norm in my Sig. I still paid fair market value for it to Grandma. Also needed the four wheel drive for Montana. I love my Ranger. Couldn't ask for a better truck. |
Re: What brought you to Rangers?
Got tired of driving around my huge F-250 Diesel. I needed to downsize, the F-150 wasnt much better, so i went way smaller with the ranger. My parents always owned fords so naturally i became a ford guy.

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
I traded some of my ex-wife's belongings. And then used the truck to haul the rest of it to the dump. And now that i think about it...the truck is a lot better ride. :)

I think what led me to my first ranger is the fact it was reliable. My bro used to have a 1995 ranger and he never gave it maintanence and kept running! When it came time to buy my first car I looked to buy something inexpensive and bought my first ranger in 2005. It was an 1999 XL regular cab, white in color only about 6,000 dollars with 75,000 miles when I got it. I gave that one to my little bro when I paid it off and upgraded to a more recent version. Here's a pic of it.

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
My grandpa had 3 Rangers before me and we had lots of memories of 4 wheelin in the mountains with em. I also love the way they look. One day I got pissed at my old first car and drove by a lot that had a 94' Ranger reg cab 2.3 2WD w/ 120k on the clock. I was a college student at the time so I needed the gas mileage AND a truck so this fit me fine. It was also a 5-speed which is the truck I learned on...lol. I had the truck the next day! I started by cleaning it real good and went to JY to get little odds and ennd it needed like factory cupholders, back window latch, all matching centercaps, etc... I the bargained for a aluminum toolbox and put that on it. Then I bough clear headlights and corners for it. I added High Volume Magnaflow catilytic converter to free up the engine. I then bought a set of new 15X7 Chrome Pacer Soft 8s and some new 265/75R16 A/Ts (no rubbing). These really set off the Mocha Frost Gold paint and chrome bumpers. I also added a whole new sound system complete with new 6X8 Pioneers and a NICE sony xplod (truck was broke into with current owner and HU was stolen). I sold my two Kicker C12s and amp to buy this system. It sounded great in reg cab. I then bought a low-profile toolbox (one on current ranger). The only things I replaced on the truck was water pump, fuel pump, and timing belt! Not bad. When I sold her, she had 183k on her (that was numerous beach trips and lots of driving! I miss her and can still see her, but she just didn't meet my needs anymore. I needed 4X4, supercab, and more towing power.
The day I bought her: http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...orePics066.jpg After front end refresh http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...orePics126.jpg After new wheels: http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...s/withrims.jpg new tires http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...s/my_truck.jpg right before I sold her w/ more new tires http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...s/ranger-1.jpg My ride now: http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...les/edited.jpg http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...s/IMG_0180.jpg http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...s/IMG_0175.jpg |
Re: What brought you to Rangers?
I first wanted a ranger when I was like 15 just 'cause I'm a Ford Truck fan but don't have a real reason to get a bigger truck... so I bought my first one when I was 18 and I liked it but didn't want a used car so I bought a new one when I was 21.
