beef_stew's 06 XLT

Well I find myself posting on the "What did you do to your ranger today" thread way too often, so I suppose it's time for a build thread.

Here's my truck. My second ranger actually, my first was a 99 XL 2wd reg cab with the 3.0 and long bed. This one came along and I snatched it up for $9800. 06 XLT ext cab 4.0 4x4 with 4.10 gears. It sits on
P255/70/16's. Had 93,000 miles when I bought it.

Here's my old ranger at it's new home :)

If you notice some dents and stuff in the pictures of my 06, it's because of its past life as a work truck, but now it's going to get babied. :D The toolboxes came with the truck when I bought it.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0fc12b18.jpg

sense I got it, I have been doing little things like changing burnt out lights and adding the FRF sticker to the back window.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/...psb739b344.jpg

I've done a little off roading with it, but for the most part, like stated earlier, it's going to get babied.

My most recent mod was adding a class 3 hitch off of an 09 ranger. craigslist score for only $45!

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/...psd1ca1942.jpg

Now my next addition to my truck is going to be the fender flares off this totaled ranger for $100. Just have to find some time to take them off. I'm really curious to see how a 06 will look with the older style fender flares

That's the start of this build. Any opinions, questions, or trolls are welcome ;)

Thanks Ying!

My upcoming changes to my truck will be

MBRP stainless steel exhaust
Fender Flares
2 tone paint like the LVL II's
BFG's (or cheaper equivalent lol)
Aftermarket radio with a sub maybe
New rims once the salt makes mine look terrible

So i was driving around town and found this bad boy for sale. My truck is worth at least $10,000 and hes only asking $9500 for the deuce and a half so I'm thinking about doing a straight up trade! Only 9,000 miles!

My pup in my truck yesterday after his walk. Only 9 years old already. My favorite pics of my truck are when he's in them.

98 fender flares on an 06 complete! I didn't drill holes in the body, I used 3M double sided trim tape for the side, then self taping screws drilled in under the flare. (with the help of my dad's tools and driveway) I love the new look. Best $100 mod IMO.

I was actually thinking about painting them white today before I put them on but I decided not to because I barely had enough time today to just mount them lol

Be sure to take your time and if you decide to drill holes, be very careful. Other than that it's really easy lol. Be sure to check if your mudflaps/running board will get in the way if you have them

Well the past month or so I've hauled some stuff and towed some stuff and did little mods here and there. But the big accomplishment was painting my underbody with Chassis saver paint along with my tow looks and rusty trusty running boards. Got my a/c fixed aswell. $418 total for replacing the compresser :(
