Discussion Thread: How To: Fog light mod 2001-2003 Your Ranger comes from the factory, the fog lights turn off when the high beam headlights are on. This mod will allow your fog lights to stay on when your headlights are in the “High Beam” position. Tools:
Step 1: Open up the hood and locate the power distribution box. Located on driver side up by the firewall. http://www.fordrangerforum.com/frf/h...d/10a33538.jpg http://www.fordrangerforum.com/frf/h...d/e6f19a79.jpg Step 2: Remove the lid from the power distribution box. http://www.fordrangerforum.com/frf/h...d/95438832.jpg Step 3: Locate the fog light relay 2001: 48B it is also located in different location then shown in illustration 2002: 48B 2003: 48B http://www.fordrangerforum.com/frf/h...d/f73df128.jpg Step 4: On the bottom of the relay you will see several terminals. Use a pair of pliers and bend the # 2 terminal or you can simply break it off which ever you prefer. If you chose to bend the terminal when you put it back in that corner will sit a little higher. Replace the lid on the power distribution box and test the results. |
