Shackles vs. blocks
I looked around and couldnt find what i was looking for but i bought belltech shackles for my truck and then realized my exhaust was in the way so then thought about the lift blocks. my question is are lift blocks dependable cause ive seen some things about them breaking or is it worth spending the money to reroute my exhaust and use the shackles thanks

Blocks are cheap and easy, if you can find stick ranger clocks that's a plus. Stock blocks for us are 2.5 inches. Just don't get aluminum blocks

Bastard pack it

What exactly is that

It's a mix of ranger and another vehicle leafs. Normally expo leaves. It lifts and increases towing performance

O ok thanks

Anyway, my exhaust was in the way when I went to put my shackles on. A quick sawzall job just behind the axle took care of it, lol. add a leaf > shackles > blocks |
Now which of these lifts do you need lift shocks for?

blocks cause torque and axle wrap. shackles help keep pinion angle and reduce axle hop. |

It's pretty much when you get on the gas the tires spin which make the axle want to twist, "axle wrap". The taller the block the more axle wrap. It wears the u joint on the driveshaft and countless other things. I've seen a truck with two 3inch blocks stacked on each other have the axle rip the driveshaft off and broke the u bolts.

Re: Shackles vs. blocks
Shackles are safer way to go. Unless you have a street queen, then blocks are fine. Blocks in off roading, can flex through the U-bolts and fall out. But that fact your truck is also not stupid lifted or anything you are going to be fine with blocks. I personally would only run shackles, I can always reroute exhaust, or cut it off. But that's me!
