Rocker panels?
Does anyone know where I can get replacement rocker panels for my 2000 ranger 4.0 other than a body shop doing then from scratch?

$150 bucks http://a.cdnbrm.com/images/products/...ker_panels.jpg The only kind your gonna find are chrome style ones, I'd personally (if I was in the market for some) just buy them & either plastic drip them black, spray paint them black, or the best way: bed line them black. Edit: From an image on your albums you posted two days you don't appear to have rocker panels.... Are you talking about covering up the rocker panel areas on your truck that already have marks on them with rocker panels? |
Well the bottom of my. Panels on my truck are rusting out and I want to fix them but the only replacement parts for rocker panels are for all years of rangers but 2000 and I wanted to avoid going to a body shot to get them fixed because I wanted to do it by myself to save some money

So (what I believe your talking about) you have a few options how to fix the damage on the rocker panel areas of your truck. 1) Have a body shop repair the damage and repaint the areas, which will most likely cost more then the truck is worth. 2a) You could buy some stop-rust liquid/spray (I've never used it before) and apply it to the rocker panel areas to prevent anymore rusting. 2b) Get some spray paint and paint over the rusted areas to prevent more rusting, if you do this, you should do 2c. Just keep in mind to limit the paint so the rocker panels cover it up. 2c) After you do 2a/2b, you could then buy rocker panels (like the one I linked you to) and paint/bed line them (if wanted) and install them on your truck to cover up the flaws. Edit: What I think you mean is like buying rocker panel body parts, similar to a front fender, and cutting out the panels and replacing them with the new ones. However this is even more work then having a body shop repair the damage areas. However, I believe you should do the cheaper option I've listed, option 2a/2b/2c. |
