Ranger MPG
Looking at a 2003 4.0 liter 5 speed auto Ranger and was wondering what kind of MPG to expect.
I drive for mpg and always beat the old EPA stickers by 3 - 8 mpg. The old sticker reads, 15 - 21 if I remember correctly. My 1989 Bronco II gets 20 - 25 mpg with the 5 speed. The best for that truck was 29 mpg.. What do the owners of the 2003 4.0 liter/auto truck get for mpg??? |
I get 18 city 22 highway with my 05 4.0L

16.5 mpg
I've calculated every single tank of gas I've put in my truck, and with the exception of rare driving habits (EG: offroading, towing, etc.) my MPG has been 16.2 - 16.8 MPG probably 95% of the time. |
15city 17 highway

My 03 4dr 4x4 4.0 5-speed got ~16-18 in town, and ~22 hwy.
I just bought a 2010 4dr 4x4 AUTOMATIC and am getting 14 in town, and 22 hwy. I am really dissapointed in the automatic...should have gotten another 5 speed. |
I get 15.2 for city and 11.3 on the highway thats Canadian. American i get 18 city 25 highway. I have been thinking about switching it over to synthetic see if that improves my fuel consupmtion
