Dome Lights

I've had this ranger for two months now and I don't drive at night much. The other night the wife asked me to go to the store and when I started the truck the dome light in the center of the roof stayed on for a few minutes. Even with me driving down the road. I check the doors and the light stayed on. It did go out after a couple minutes. After I got the stuff at the store I noticed the same thing happened. Light stayed on for a couple minutes.

Now I don't drive much at night as I said before but now I keep checking the light and this happen sometimes but not always.

I can't seem to find the button in the door jamb ether.

Whats up with the invisible button in the door jam and why is this light staying on?

Thanks for the help.

This method might work: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/inter...jar-light.html

Yup. Just as Tom said, do it that way.
Spray this latch with WD-40 and slam the door shut a few times. You'll need to slam the door hard so it takes care of the problem so don't be scared to give it all you got haha>

If you see it's not working its most likely the other door which is giving you the problem, not the one you're spraying.

Sounds good to me! I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Now to post up another question. Starting a new post for it. Its not even the same thing but it is electrical.

I sprayed the hell out of the latches on both doors and slammed them over and over. The passenger side would work just fine afterwords. I close the door and the dome light would go out. I did the same to the drivers door and the light would stay on! I gave up on it.

The next day I went to the store and found out that when you open the drivers door the light will stay on until you put the key in the ignition and turn the truck on. At that time the light goes out.:embarassed:

So don't be like me and keep slamming and slamming the door and spraying and spraying the door expecting the light to go out any time now. It wont!

I did another dumb a$$ thing that I will explain but I will start another thread for it. It might help out another person in the future!
