Oil pressure gauge bounces...

So 3 days ago I started driving and happened to notice my oil gauge was at zero and i was like WTF! I got scared and pulled into the gas station payed for gas come back out after a few minutes checked my oil and it was a little low maybe half quart nothing major so I added about that much started it up and the gauge was up like normal. So today same thing, I leave work and oil pressure was all the way down then it would flick up instantly then drop down again then a few minutes later be normal then drop again instantly. Then it started going up was about 1/4 way for a few miles then was normal pressure after the engine warmed up. Checked my oil when I got home it was fine. Nice and clean too I just changed it about a month ago.

Is there a plug somewhere I need to wiggle or something? Bad pressure sensor?

:dontknow:

does yours show a real pressure or just low to high, my 93 2.3 did the same thing I replaced the sensor and got the same thing so I put in a "T" and installed a real pressure guage so know I know what the pressure is in psi

He has the same engine I do. It is basically an idiot light with a needle. There is no real time pressure reading.

Change pressure switch, mine used to do the same thing. All better now.
