I'm a fan of clay bar...

Man oh man does a clay bar make your paint slick!!! A flea tried to land on it and slipped and busted his arse!!!

You can't feel it, but it also brightened up the paint some too...

before and after shots wouldve been better :D

dos0711 02-15-2010 03:28 PM

Your right...but I didn't take any before shots...sorry.

Its amaizing how good it is.

I challenge anyone who has never used a clay bar to wash & t-cut their car, then polish it and think its clean......Take your fresh clay bar and work it over the hood, watch all the brown lube spray dribble off our bonnet like a bird turd.

Then check out the clay bar and tell me it doesn't look like you wiped a bears ass with it.

Clay rocks.

What happens when you do a detail? Rain of course...

Clay bar is the best.

What brand did you use?

dos0711 02-15-2010 03:57 PM

Mother's...I was debating between Meguires and Mothers...

People think I'm stupid when they see me rubbing my truck with "playdough" as they call it. Then I make them come feel the paint and they get it..

Steviejay 02-15-2010 04:00 PM

Megs is the one i use.

They are all the same (per grading) not really much in them, you get different harshness so to speak but you will find your paint is lighter.

More so on your white truck, you cant really tell on most other colors but you will see it lift all the mosquito shit out of your hood....(the ones they left there just before you impaled them on your windshield) hence the brighter looking glass like paintwork you no doubt now have!

works great for getting over spray off too, and tar.

Yea too true....get them to "feel" it....oh yea.....

And if its a chick.....i make them feel my other well polished object.
Its a dead cert that they end up on the back seat of my truck after exposure like that!!

This is of course a lie.
I'm married.....the only thing that ends up on my back seat these says is baby puke and my wife's god damd clutter.

:(

Damn you! That looks great, man.

I can't wait for better weather where it would be worthwhile it to detail the rig.

Its been weeks since it even saw some suds...

I love clay bars. Clay is the only thing I've used that makes it so I can see my ass in the WHITE paint.

It was not exactly Palm Springs here when I did it...about 50 degrees, no sunshine at the time and the wind was blowing...didn't care, wanted it done!
