Rear end trouble

So last week after having all kinds of fun in my 1990 ranger in the snow and ice it started making this noise when I was making right turns and I kept driving and everything and then a couple days later the noise got bad so bad I can't stand it. When I take off there is no noise, when I push in my clutch to shift I hear it but as soon as it's in gear and I'm on the gas the noise goes away well when I'm just cruising whether it's 20 mph or 55 mph the noise is there and when my truck is in neutral or I'm slowing down the noise is there. My question is before I start taking pieces off of there does anyone know what this problem could possibly be?

It could be anything from a bearing in the axle to a bearing in the transmission.

That helps.
