Got a billet grille? If not, better remove that plastic honeycomb or else it'll melt from the heat...
Daylighters are pretty damn fat...I don't think I've ever seen anyone mount Daylighters behind the grille because of it. If you wanna keep your honeycomb, you're better off getting like Hella 500's that are 55w. If you want brighter, replace that grille and run KC Slimlites(basically they're skinny Daylighters). |
what if i repaint the grill with high heat paint? will that help?

damn. well any other options? cuz there going to be here tomorrow. do you think they would look good mounted right in front of the grill?
|
You might be able to fit em on your stock bumper. Not sure tho.
Sorry, that doesn't really help. :D |

i don't know about your truck but mine had some easy to get to bolts in the back of the bumper, i just got some mounting tabs to put my daylighters in front of the grill
|
Yes you have the easy mount option on your truck for in front of the grille, I cannot find any good pics showing it though:

Edit: ^^^Dangit Justin! lol!
Hey Luc, remember my four lights I had on the front of mine? I made brackets similar to a product www.stuffforyourranger.com sells. Except mine were made for Slimlites and theirs is made for daylighters. They mount to existing bumper hardware found on the backside of 98-05 trucks at the bottom of each corner of the grille. You can stick your finger between the bumper/grille gap and feel them. RangerJustin has daylighter sized lights on the front of his using lighttabs and they ain't that bad looking... http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...G/IMG_2306.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...G/IMG_2304.jpg Here's detailed pics of my old setup... http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...e/PC170058.jpg http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...e/PC170052.jpg http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...e/PC170056.jpg |
go to home depot and they sell 90 degree steel, its like for bracketry and stuff on roofs. its really thick and is the perfect dimensions for the bumper. its also like $2 each so pretty cheap. you have the easy bolts like everyone said so you may just need to either drill out the brackets or add washers to compensate for two different sized holes
