Black Chrome Diff Cover Installed!!!
 
Got the old one off and the new Black Chrome one swaped out today in 35 degree temps! Took about an hour but looks great!

So im very happy with how the new Black Chrome looks on the axle and the royal purple in it should be awesome for the truck's health and life.

And heres the cost of the project...

New steel diff cover: $18.00
Cover Black Chromed: $65.00
3 Quarts of RP 75W-90: $60.00
Silicone Gasket: $ 7.00
-------------------------------
Total Cost: $150.00

Looking good, but you should have put a can of undercoat to that axle before you swapped the covers! would have saved you some work on masking that one up.

Ive still got the stock cover so i couls just drain the Royal Purple, put the stock cover on, spray the whole thing, put the new cover back on, and then run the RP back into it.

you could paint your tow hitch, mine got to looking like yours and I gave it a fresh coat. Really cleans up the look

That was actually my next plan! I tried to take it off but the damn bolts wont come off, not even with air tools! Did you just mask of and paint it or were you able to get it off?

just painted it, it is down enough not to get any on the bumper but I don't have to worry about overspray since my truck is black. So just tape it off with some plastic and get after it

sweet, thanks man! Just gotta make sure i mask it off good, dont want my yellow bumper turning black! Do you reccomend a certain paint in particular?
