Little red wire
 

Hello all. I just got under the hood of my ranger for some p.m. and found a loose small red wire hanging off the positive battery terminal. It looks to have come out of a connector that is laying in the vicinity. The truck is running relatively fine. Does anyone know what this wire is powering?

Could have been a power wire for some accessory someone added then removed prior to u owning the truck

You were right. It was the power for a brake light on the cap on the bed. Now that light is working again. Thanks!
