Hello all

New to the forum so am introducing myself before I start peppering you all with stupid questions.:D

I have a 94 Ranger Splash XLT 4x4. It's a black SuperCab that I bought new in the fall of 1994. It now has about 246,000 miles on it and I still call her my baby.

I haven't driven it in awhile - at least not on the road - and have it in the barn under wraps until I can get around to restoring it.

I think that time is right around the corner, so I'm starting to do my research. It's been my experience that a good forum with knowledgeable peeps is invaluable.

So thank you all in advance for putting up with me.

Well that was quick!! Thanks for the welcome.

I am attempting to add my sig and will see if it pops up with this post...okay that worked.

Now I'm off to seek info for my first project -- rack and pinion replacement.

Welcome to the forums!

It really is an invaluable place for information. Just remember not to feed the trolls (look it up if you don't know the meaning.)

The majority will put up with any question you ask, however, avoid rebuttal to any who try to get a rise out of you. ;)

Good luck with your project!

If you wouldn't mind taking pictures while you go along your replacement process of various parts, you are more than welcome to post up a write-up or how-to in the proper section on these forums!

I'd love to see some pictures of your truck!

Hey 94mtx,

I'll start posting some pics next week.

It'll be a slow go as I have a couple of other projects to get out of the way first.

Thanks again for the welcomes.

Re: Hello all

Looking back at my first post and see how amazingly stupid I am.
My Ranger does not have rack and pinion steering. :o

And it's been five loooooong years since I've started and stopped and started again.

As I seriously get into it now since I am no longer a member of the working class, I find more and more things that need to be taken care of and more and more questions that keep popping up.

You'll see my posts in the various sections from electrical to drivetrain to "What the F*** is this part?" as I go through the process of cleaning up the old girl.

So far I've replaced a door. calipers, transfer case motor, speakers, new battery and a couple of other odds and ends.

The speed control and brake lights are not working, so that's on my immediate to do list along with some engine and exhaust work - damn I'm tired already.

Now that Photobucket is fershit, I'll be using IMGUR. Much easier to use and implement. Anyway looking forward to annoying you over the next few months.
