Replacing Dashboard lights

Hi all,

I have a 2001 Ranger XLT and some of the dash board lights are out. What and how involved is it to change those out?

How To: Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement

mcpink 01-20-2010 05:08 AM

Yeah, it's not bad at all, and the How To STL linked to is spot on. Takes maybe an hour to an hour and a half if you go slow. Well worth it, though.

Thank You Every One

Knew I could find the answer here. My poor truck took a real beating before I purchased it - but like a Ford, it just keeps going.

I only knew some of the dash board lights were out and was told it could be a nightmare to replace them (from a Mercedes owner no less), LOL.

Still will mark the info but will have to wait till it's a little warmer to do this. 20+ degrees with no shelter in Illinois is not good for auto work.

Thank you again,

Sherry

If you change the color of the bulbs can you still control them with the dimmer switch?

It's really not bad at all. But, like you said, you'll def want it warmer when you do it!
