Yeah I know that but I meant since you get 2"s flipping the stock rear shackles anyway are these worth it??? Do you have dream beams or just coils in the front

ninety5ranger 06-01-2012 09:57 PM

Id say no I'm going to flip mine when I get my C notch on but ya it does help the ride with the dream beams and got rid of my chamber

Re: Djm 2" inch lowering shackles

id say it would because with my flip kit those shackles are alot longer and the extra length after the hanger flip is going to raise the leaf a few inches higher therefore dropping it whatever the shackle increase is

only thing is i think your pinoin angle will be pretty dicked up since the new angle isnt compensated for.

I'm so confused ive been reading and some say flip the shackles and some say no just do the flip kit in the back wtf

ninety5ranger 06-02-2012 09:51 PM

Re: Djm 2" inch lowering shackles

2in drop: Flip shackles
4in drop: Flip kit (whole rear axle)
6in drop: Flip rear shackles + flipping rear axle

2in and 4in drops don't require a frame notch, but once you go to the 6in, you will be riding pancake bumpstops and will have to notch the frame.

I have stock shocks in the rear and it's acceptable, but not ideal. You'll want to get different shocks.

I did flip kit only. I haven't touched the front, but you get the idea:

This is stock:

You WILL need to adjust your pinion angle with a flip kit. Do what Bwad did and shim your carrier bearing. I haven't done it yet because I'll be leaving the country in 3 days, but that'll happen when I get back.

Hope this helps some.

Re: Djm 2" inch lowering shackles

In that stock picture, the rear tires (studded winter tires) are 205/55(i think)/r14 and are a tad smaller than my normal 225/60/r14. but you can see the stock tires are fine.

In the front:
2in drop: cut stock coils (not ideal)
2in drop: lowering coils (ideal)
3in drop: lowering coils slightly cut (not bad at all)
3in drop: dream beams on stock coils
5in drop: dream beams + drop coils (perfect)
6+ drop: breams + cut lowering coils (not ideal when cutting a lot)

A camber kit will be required for almost all of the lowering in the front.
