How big is my gas tank?

Hey everyone i was wondering what size my gas tank is? the manual says superCabs have the 19.5 gallon tank but when my gauge is telling me i am on empty, i fill up and put about 15 to 14 gallons back in so i always figured i had the 16.5 gallon tank. thanks

truck is also a stepside too

I've got a 19.5 and when the light comes on....it only takes about 17 gallons.

I've confirmed it's got 19.5 because I ran it a looong time before filling after the light came on(estimated the mpg and the 2.5 'reserve' to see how much farther I could go).....and it took 18.8 gallons. Yeah...not a precise measurement...but damn near running on fumes and a close enough estimate to confirm. haha!

i think mine is 20, as mine is on E with about 2 gallons or so left. one day i filled it up from dam near bone dry and put 19.8 gallons in.

I think some of the gas stations just have bad pumps or something. I've filled up 19.5 gallons or so once, and I'm pretty sure that's either because I had gas in the neck of the tube, or the pumps weren't accurate.

19.5 here. Once I put over 18 gallons in it.

That's running it ridiculously way too low.

14 on my reg cab. Most ive ever put in was 13.2 when it was running on the gas light for 20 miles.

k i guess im just going to run my tank down to nothing and just carry extra gas with me to see how much is takes

smakes 01-15-2010 10:31 AM

dont do that lol. when you do that it sucks a ton of shit into your injectors and it will throw a cel

The owners manual says my 96 ext. cab has a 20 gal. tank,I have put 19 gal. in it before

greyghost 01-18-2010 05:36 PM

my '04 has a 20 gal tank . so the manual said.

smakes 01-18-2010 05:37 PM

manuals seem to be incorrect. mine says ive got a locking glove box... funny, wheres the lock?

mcpink 01-18-2010 05:55 PM

My '02 extended cab stepside has a 19.5 gallon tank. When the light comes on and it hits E I usually fill it up with about 16.5 - 17 gallons.
