New Window Tint coming today!

For Christmas, my wonderful grandmother gave me money to have my windows tinted on the Ranger! It's in the shop as I am typing this. I decided to go with 15% on the three back windows because I value seeing while backing. On the front two, I went the the legal 35%. I think it will be just right! Pics to come after my lunch break (hopefully).

I went with a local guy who's been doing it for years. I talked to a guy i work with and he said this guywas doing it when he was in school. He offers a lifetime warranty on any defects in his workmanship. The only thing he doesn't cover is if it turns purple because of using wrong cleaner (with ammonia). I don't blame him on that though. I have personally seen his work and it is AMAZING. My fiance's daddy had his F-150 wheels done by him and i thought they were factory tinted when i first met him. Ya'll have to deal with crackberry pics today as I forgot my camera at home :(

About freaking time!

Congrats. 15% is still pretty dark though. Hopefully it'll be okay for you at night.

Even before I had my windows tinted, I NEVER use anything but water to clean my windows. I have tried every possible technique and found the 2-rag method (one wet with water, one dry) is the absolute best.
Everyone comments on how spotless and streakless my windows are. Night time is the true test of just how clean windows are, and on my vehicles you can't even tell that you're looking through glass.
You might want to try that. You can get 100% flawlessly clean windows without using any chemicals whatsoever.

I am telling you like before do 20% on the doors you will regreat 35% later on. 35% is soooo lite. and btw 20% you can see just fine at night had 4 vehicles now with it on the sides never had an issue and I even wheel at night with it.

I can't do 20% on my sides. Local Lawenforcement really crack down on it. My faince's sister's BF had had three fix-it tickets for his tint. I just dont have the $$ to be taking tint off and putting it back on. I'd rather not deal with the hassle and just do what the law saysp; I don't like it, but its what i gotta do

Round here law doesn't enforce too much. Just if it's so dark you can see. I got mine done a fee weeks ago and did 15% on the sides and back and 35% on my windshield. It's really dark at night. I can get pics later if you wanna see.

blah. 35% is nice! I have 10% on my back windows though, and the tint strip is 5%

thats what I have.

Just got the truck back with the tint on; it looks great! He did an awesome job with no bubbles whatsoever, plus it has a lifetime warranty. Also i got my new tags put on up front. It was a Christmas present from the fiance, they look great as well. So the past two weeks has been great for the truck! New tint, tires, tags, and speakers! I wish i could have went darker on the front ones, but the cops are bad for enforcing the tint law; my friend has had to remove his three times. I love how its nice and shady in the truck!

I had to use the Crackberry to take pics. Also the truck is filthy from tall the snow and mud here lately. I bet i pressure washed it 4 times last week.

Looks good. It looks like the sky was pretty clear in those pics. To me, that's the only time that 35% doesn't seem like much - in direct sun. If it's overcast, or even a little bit cloudy, they will appear much darker. There are times where you can hardly see through my windows from the outside.

dixie_boysles 12-29-2009 12:02 PM

WOW these pics make my truck look like $hit!!! The snow and mud has been awful, and now i feel ashamed that my truck looks like that! Its going through a car wash when i get off. and yeah, its pretty clear outside, cant wait to see how they look at night
