Duplicolor vinyl & fabric paint?

Has anyone here used the Duplicolor vinyl & fabric paint - or an equivalent product/ And if so, what were the results? I am thinking about experimenting with my old cloth seat covers & i'm just curious what other people's experience with this stuff is.

Thanks

I was just going to post this asking about it for my seats.
I used it for my arm rests. Came out pretty good. Just make sure you prep right.

Before and after pics..

please, don't waste your time or money. dying cloth is a terrible idea. nothing good comes from it. it will turn your seats crusty and hard. it's also hard to get it even. if you decide to do get, get a good quality dye like SEM dye. it's oem quality.

but just to give you an idea what dyed cloth looks like, take a look at this truck we had to redo everything in because the guy thought he could dye his cloth.....

Damn, who applied that stuff to those seats, Stevie Wonder? Looks terrible, uneven spraying, spotting everywhere. Looks like they spent 15 seconds on it and then said ah screw this.

yep, and we got stuck fixing it. new seats, headliner, and carpet. costly mistake.

Had a buddy use that in his taco, he got it all over himself a couple days after use lol.

Is it possible they just applied it wrong? There's a thrash on here somewhere, where a poster applied it to his seats (I'm fairly positive it was his seats, among his other interior) I think he was happy with it.

Troy does that stuff for a living If I was you I'd take his free advice and run with it. Please don't do that kind of stuff yourself... Unless you just don't care.

not so much applied wrong, but applied intoxicated. but i still don't suggest doing it. dye will turn the cloth hard and crusty. why try to dye something and not have it last, or have it turn out poorly and have to pay more money to get it fixed. it's one thing if you need to replace a piece of plastic and it's the wrong color. but it's another thing to do a complete color change. tv shows (like trucks, etc) that praise products like dye make it seem like us upholsterers aren't worth the time. why take it to the pros when you can do it yourself at home from a catalog. notice they never really show the end result. next time, look at it closely. if it's just a cheap beater, sure no problem. but if it's something you value and want to look good for a long time, let the pros do it.

me and a buddy used that crap on his carpet in his dime and it does make the carpet all crusty but his dash and looks good after almost a year...its shitty for high traffic areas such as seats...that drppdyllwrngr guy really knows his shit, guy does some kick ass work from what i have seen, so listen to him

that paint works great on the dash and stuff, but sucks on fabric. i sprayed my headliner black and its crusty, but its just a temporary fix til i can afford to buy a replacement one.

Well I definitely do NOT want any crusty parts so I am taking y'alls advice and avoiding it. And I oughta get some kinda props for using the phrase 'crusty parts'.
