I have a quick question that has probably been asked and answered somewhere before but, does anyone know what size brake line I need to go fronm the front to the rear on a 1993 ford ranger, I dont want to buy the wrong size. Thanks Steve

Re: brake line size?
Found out it's 3/16, any suggestions on how to get a new line thru the frame rail past the gas tank?
|
It will be easier to route it around. Otherwise, you are looking at either pulling the bed or dropping the tank to get the old line out.

Re: brake line size?
Thanks guys I did figure out that it was easier to go around the other side of the gas tank and I left the old line in there along with the other one that was there, now I am just waiting for another coupling to show up and I will see if my double flaring was done right. Thanks again, I sure like my little ranger with 193,000 mi. on it but i cant help to wonder whats next:)

Re: brake line size?
what size brake line goes from the split at the rear axel to each wheel cylinder and what size fittings do i need. im gnna be replacing my wheel cylinders and the brake line fittings are rounded off so i figured it would be easier to cut the line and get new lines from the split

Re: brake line size?
okay i found out that the fitting that will go to the wheel cylinders is gonna be 7/16ths

Re: brake line size?
Brake lines are 3/16's, fronts are usually run from splitter block and rear line is usually
1/4" back to rear splitter block then 3/16" to each wheel. |
Re: brake line size?
me and the guys over at oreilly figured it out from the rear brake hose it is the 3/8ths thread and at the wheel cylinder it is 7/16ths
well i swapped out the wheel cylinders and the rearaxle brake lines wasnt that difficult just time consuming. took about an hr and a half :thrasher: |
