How big can I go?
Sorry if this was in a sticky and I missed it, I read the one with all the truck pics but I didn't get enough info(probably because I'm a noob)
I have a '96 Ranger with stock setup and 14's, with 227/70 r14's on it. I need new tires and want to just go ahead and upgrade to some bigger rims and tires without having to add a lift kit right now. In the long run I want to add a 3" lift, but not right now, gotta get new tires ASAP and need to spend money there first lol How big can I get away with going before I rub? I'd love to go to 16" wheels but am I going to have issues with tires? Thanks!! |
Re: How big can I go?
probably wouldnt want to go bigger than a 30in tire with out lifting. as for wheels the diameter of the wheel wont change what size tire you can fit.

Re: How big can I go?
im going against t barr and saying 31s is your max right now so if u upgrade to 16s that would be 245/xx/16 i think
---------- or 15s would be 31x10.5x15 (what i run) |
Re: How big can I go?
i ran 31 on stock 94 suspension

Re: How big can I go?
haha thanks guys! I'm looking forward to winning the argument and getting a lift kit, but for now I'm going ot be happy with some better tires and wheels. My poor hubby is convinced I'm nuts for wanting to life a 2WD truck, but after having to get my poor tail hauled out of the mud a couple times he's at least agreed I need better tires!
Now just hoping if I go big enough I can convince him how much better it will look with a 3" lift! ;) |
