Which Amp for this sub?

There was a local draw/give-away for a Rockford Fosgate Prime R1L-1X10 sub. I won it and will receive it on Monday. The thing is, it doesn't come with an amp or any wiring. I've never wired an amp or anything before (other than putting new speakers in my truck) and I'm not sure what to get in regards to amps and wiring.
This is the head unit I have, and the speakers are in my signature.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like 150 RMS @4ohm. So youll want to match those specs. An amp that puts out 150 watts at 4ohms.

Yup, exactally that, should be easy and fairly cheap to find a amp that falls under those specks. Pretty much any amp will work, Alpine, Boston Acoustics, Kenwood, Power Bass, Power Acoustic, Sony, Boss Audio, Polk Audio, Kicker, JVC, Clarion, Ect...much to choose from.

Depends on his price range, they all "Work" it just all comes down to price, and quality, I would not reccomend Power Acoustic, Power Bass or Boss Audio, but they are legit brands out there. He could also buy MTX, Audio Pipe, or Infinity, all good brands also.

Depends on your idea of a 'good brand'. Some of it is just shit. No other way to say it.

Rockford Fosgate, Audiobahn, JL audio, Pyle, Jensen, Pioneer, Pheniox Gold, Insignia, Planet Audio, and a TON of off brand stuff...you have so much to choose from, like was said, some are crappy and cheap and others are great and expensive, you will just have to see what works for you. Every amp brand new is going to "Work" but it is how well and how long it will "Work" correctly.

OK ... But why recommend crap ? ... like Pyle, Phoenix Gold, Planet Audio, Boss, Power Acoustic, Power Bass ...

Plye isnt too bad. Ive used speakers and a sub or two before. I think he is just saying that all brands will work. Just depends on your price range and needs.

All brands do not work as they advertise. Some will claim 1000 watts and only have a 30 amp fuse, for example. If you want good stuff, you have to be willing and able to pay for it, period.

I was just going to go with Rockford Fosgate to stay in the similar-brand catagory. Do I want one that is exactly 250watt, or do I want something around 300watt so I have some leeway?

Re: Which Amp for this sub?

you want something more around a 300 watt, you could even go with a 500 watt or possibly more if you have it tuned right.

250 would work...

I would suggest:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ch-P300-1.html

OR

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ME-R250-1.html

Both are quality amps and very economically priced.

Getcha a nice little wiring kit to boot:

agreed thata why you go by rms wattage not watts. Of course the more you pay the better product. But even so some of those brands are decent starter brands.
