Re: lowering my 87 ranger
I beams for the front. You cant cut the springs in the front because it will hit the bump stop.

Re: lowering my 87 ranger
You don't HAVE to cut your coil springs. You are just thinking you do to save money. But your truck will ride a lot nicer if you do it right the first time.
Get I beams and you won't be sorry. |

Re: lowering my 87 ranger
Cut coils is hack and rides like crap, Not to mention half the time the truck can not be realigned. When I first got in the scene (over a decade ago) I had a shop do the coils on my explorer, needless to say one week later I was buying new coils. The 87 rangers do not have as much alignment adjustability for camber as the 89-97 rangers have. Most places do not even recommend running the 2" Belltech drop coils on the pre 89 rangers. DJM beams are the best way to go, even better would be to pickup some second gen spindles and running the new DJM beams, plus the newer beams are cheaper.
