greyghost 12-22-2009 12:57 AM

this may be a stupid question but what's the purpose of the blue tinted headlights besides less glare if any?

Casper 12-22-2009 01:09 AM

Get 6000k!

100% cosmetics, also the bluer the light the dimmer it is.

I've never even heard of the Q Blue, T Blue, Z Blue, or any colors like that, everything I've always seen shows HID bulbs in numerical value.

8000K & 10000K are popular among the crowd who are seeking the blue tint.

Here is another chart that might give you a better perspective:

maybe i need to get out more?

Blue reduces the output, adds more glare, and scatters in inclement weather. Other than trying to look like a posur BMW, having blue tinted lights gains you nothing but problems.

6,000K will give you white light with a slight blue tinge like you see on expensive cars. Anything higher than that is dumb in my opinion.

ive never heard of any letttered HID bulb, only numbers. ive got 8k's and like matt said the bluer the light the worse the scatter, mine light up trees when it rains, but theyre damn bright and i love em

this image is like 1000 times better thanks! and yeah, ive never heard of the letters before either, this was off craigslist some guy who said he'd sell anyof them for 100$ a set plus 25$ to instal. first off is that a good price? secondly, how hard are they to install? i think i might go with like 9,000K they seem blueish enough and should be bright enough. thanks for the input guys

smakes 12-23-2009 11:52 AM

um no, i get all my kits on ebay for 50 shipped. and they take under an hour to install, its all plug and play

1. What exactly are you getting? $100 for a simple xenon kit is a rip off unless it's the xenon low beam & xenon high beam kit.

2. 9000K doesn't exist.

3. Installation is straight forward, as smakes said, it takes about an hour but it's easy.

smakes 12-23-2009 01:02 PM

he mightve made a typo on 8k tom
