Sounds ungodly distorted. (and im not talking about the sound quality of the recording... when you do this long enough you can hear distortion through crappy audio)

1- Id be willing to bet he has waaaay to much gain.
2-Up facing produces the worse sound.

potato... patado... still gonna cook the bejesus out of it. SB's are designed to hold 800-1000.... MAX. RMS of around 450-500.

Huh? Where are you getting that info? My S10L7 is rated at 600 RMS and Im feeding it 500 and have been for a few years now and it works fine.

I get that knowledge by installing them on a daily basis. Manufactures like to upstate their products RMS ratings... Kicker is the worst at exaggeration. I've seen practical applications and trust me. 3000 RMS is waaaaay overstated. 01-Ranger... youre closer to the actual number than Kickers website.

I think this is the Solo X. They can handle upwards of 5kw rms. Pure SPL sub doubt it sounds good. but if thats what the owner wanted...
