2010 fx4

Hey all. I didn't really post along the way but this has been one of my few 'semi'-projects over the last 6 months or so. Just baby steps for now.

Started out with the Hurst shifter kit, Magnaflow muffler K+N CAI, Screamin Demon ignition(plugs re-gapped) and an all Alpine factory stereo speakers and head unit upgrade. Sorry no k+n, magnaflow or ignition coil pics .

Then HIDs. Properly aimed I might add. lol

Rims and tires

And finally I talked myself into a 3" P.A bodylift. I was a fairly easy project overall but took me and a couple buddies just 'putsin' about 12hrs. We all had pretty minimal experiance with lifts so just relied on common sense and things went slow but smooth.(Gap gaurds yet to come)

Beautiful looking truck. What other mods do you have planned for it next?

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the difference between the 10 and the 11 is almost nothing although I've heard the 11 did have optional limited slip. I got screwed on that deal ( no LS in 2010! And 28 spline axles too!!! What a load of crap) So Im not going to do much about the 28 spline axles but a lunch box locker or something more proper is going to be one of my next projects. (just not too sure if a lunchbox is the right choice for a truck thats driven mainly on mountain roads so lots of up and downhill and ice in the winter. Then once i toast this front end SAS. Im not too sure how thats gonna work with advance trac and stability control but only one way to find out. One thing i would like to mention is that the body lift does not seem to affect the traction and stability control adversely or at all for that matter. I wasnt sure if the center of gravity would change with the lift essentially changing the way the computer works. Another thing on my list would definately be the overhead console mod. When done well they look sweet and theyre functional too. I removed my hitch(hope i dont regret it)and spare tire(making a rack for in the box) with the lift for a cleaner look. Also the Hurst pistol grip is gone back to the ball as it didnt feel as good when i swapped out the factory hurst stick with a new Hurst 538-8022 which i must add works out very well with the lift. Does anyone know of aftermarket tow hooks for the front as the factory ones no longer work with my body lift? Also any ideas for rear hooks for the back would be a big help now that my hitch is gonzo. Comments from the experianced on the lunchbox locker idea would be great too. Thanks again

Yep its tinted. And agreed, I do need beefier tires. I sold my Dura tracs. These are temporary. I haven't decided on my new tires yet. There's a few gooders. I'm not 100% sure but I may go with the good year wrangler territories in a 285 75 16 but may just go with something in 265's again.

Stay away from the lunch box locker I'm changing mine out for an LSD. locker is noisy and scetchy in the winter

love that truck. Rangers can look so awesome with a decent topper choice

Thanks. I have a mixed opinion on toppers as they limit the size of what goes in the box. But I got this one used for $200, pretty mint as it came off a 2007, and even colour matched! I couldn't say No. Just got some pricing on a new set of Duratracs. In Calgary i got a quote at Poorboy tire for 285's everything including taxes for $1276 or 265's for $1089. I'm really torn. 285 or 265? I'm pretty sure i can fit 285's with no rubbing because 265's fit sitting stock with these offset wheels. I just don't know if I can stand the thought of even worse fuel mileage lol.

Id go with the 285's it honestly wont kill your gas mileage any extra that will make much of a differece, maybe a mile or 2 per gallon at the most. Ive had 235's, 32's, and 33's and it really didn't change to much with my 4.10 gears.

On a side note, DAMN on those prices holy crap. I paid 740 out the door for my 33 MT's. Now acourse that was through my work but still even if I was a regualr customer it wouldn't have been higher than 900 or so. Gotta love 15 inch wheels.

LOL I know. We get hosed for tires up here.

Good luck with the Screaming Demon CP. In the boosted world, they're pure junk. Do yourself a favor and go back the the Factory Coilpack.
