Re: An interior LED masterpiece (not a Ranger)
forgot these..
The cup-holders I built are much more extravagant. I used 1/4" Plexiglas to make a light bar that fit its way around the edge of the cupholder. To do this I had to scan them into CAD. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/cee7ce00.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/16b2e3df.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/e34c76de.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/b5b21e47.jpg I then drilled holes in both the holders and the Plexiglas to fit the LEDs. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/3505adbb.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/4cdc686e.jpg I then added jems and jewels along with some glitter to make it really girly. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/120e482a.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/d1c4ff19.jpg I then enclosed the entire project in a rubber like epoxy solution, so it would look like it was under water. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/425b4ff4.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/20a01450.jpg Here are the results at night: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/0ced90ea.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/794d88ba.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/dbd73d32.jpg The LEDs are wired to a circuit I designed that allows them to run at 15ma regardless of voltage (used voltage regulation) - The entire ambient circuit is designed this way. |

http://collegepoison.com/wp-content/.../bedazzler.jpg LOL - j/k What I think was really cool was the stuff I used the seal the gems underneath so they look like they are under water. I used this stuff that I bought at Michaels (a craft store) called "craft water" (I think?) - It's a 2 piece epoxy that cures to what feels like a rubber bouncy ball. Playing with it and doing some testing, I put some in a plastic cup. When I pulled it out of the cup I cut it with a knife. I felt like I was tearing apart the 2 halfs of one of those jumbo superballs you get for 50c in the vending machines. |
