Camshaft position sensor location
 
Where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 1997 2.3L. It does'nt show where in my Haynes manual. I have also searched the web and can't find any info. Thanks in advance for any asisstance.

its behind the oil pump. drivers side lower behind the timing cover, under the power steering pump.

The camshaft position sensor (CMP sensor) on 2.3L engines is located behind the inner timing belt cover and mounted on the oil pump assembly.

2 Camshaft Position Sensor
3 Camshaft Position Sensor Bolts (2)
4 Engine Control Sensor Wiring
A Tighten to 45-61 Lb-In

Hey Guys I Was Wondering If Anyone Could Help Me Out . I Have A 1993 Ford Ranger 2.3L 2wd I am Trying to Find out Where The Camshaft Position Sensor is Located at on my truck I have looked every where and I can't find it . I have tried looking it up on the internet and in the book but can't find it. I am also needing to know the timing belt diagram .I just put a new timing belt and crankshaft on it if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

You don't have a cam positioning sensor. Just line the cam and crank up. The other is just an auxiliary sprocket.
