Towing a boat?

My Ranger: 3.0 V6. 2WD 5 speed.
Will she be able to tow something like these smaller type boats off the bumper? or even with a tow package?
These are outboard fiberglass about 15 footers...single axles trailers. Don't own them but would rather get something like these instead of the aluminum fishing boats.

I dunno about off the bumper

With a hitch you could. Truck will handle it

If you don't have a hitch already, they're not expensive, and even cheaper if you score one from a junk yard.

A boat is not ideal to tow on the bumper.

Thanks guys.....I take it then nothing bigger then a bread box off the bumper. Thats a good idea to scout the junk yards Jay! Never thought of that! Thanks.

wtf mine came with one, a 2.3 automatic with a class 3 hitch and a 7000# rating on said hitch lol

Yeah invest in a hitch (they're a paint to pit on from fighting gravity!). I used to pull a 10ft trailer with mulch and a 14' jon boat with my 2.3, not ideal but it got the job done. Yeah u should be fine. U will be able to tell something is back there though

before i swapped to the 4.0 in my truck, came stock 3.0/auto, i pulled my dads 21 ft. stratos bass boat with a tandem axle trailer and had no problems with it hooked to the bumper. pulled it about 125 miles and back home with no problems.

Nobody is suggesting it's impossible, just not recommended.

Sure, people have towed on the bumper, even exceeded the max weight, and haven't had a problem. But sooner or later, they just might. IMO, the consequences are too great to do that on a regular basis.
