The "Work" thread....
Well, I haven't seen a thread specifically related to this, so I thought I would make one.
Anything work related; where you work, what you do, how your day has gone, anything you'd like to share about your work experience. Personally, I work at Marlin Technologies in Horicon, WI in the mechanical assembly section building electronics for anything from the Jaws of Life to PDU's for garbage trucks. Here's their website: www.marlintech.com The business I work for only has 30-40 employees and we typically bring in $1,000,000 per month in sales. I am currently working 40 hour weeks, but it can vary from 40-55 hours, depending on how slow/busy we are. $800,000 is a slow month for us (40 hours) $1,000,000 is a 40-55 hour/week month for us I hate waking up at 4:30 every day to get ready for work and be in by 6:00, with a 20 mile commute and all, but I get paid $12.50/hr right now for what I do, and get health insurance and dental for $40/week. Gotta make that money to spend that money! |

I work at a NH lumber yard where people drink beer and chew tobacco on the job. It's a low key atmosphere, but the days can get pretty long lifting timber after timber. Other times, we just play music as loud as it goes and chat all day.
